Carpenter
Job Description
As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for creating frameworks for new buildings, restructuring old ones, and constructing cabinetry and furniture. You will be well versed with power tools, including measuring, cutting, shaping, fitting, and finishing different woods.
Key Responsibilities
- To construct, repair, and maintain wood-based structures, such as stairs, walls, and furniture.
- Measuring, cutting, fitting, and fastening the wood in accordance with the standards of the job
- Must be able to read and interpret plans, as well as select the materials and tools required to complete the job
- Responsible for designing and creating custom pieces of furniture or wooden fixtures.
- Understanding of different types of wood, the properties of various stains and finishes, and how to use tools safely and efficiently
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills to make sure the end product meets the customer’s specifications
- Carpenters must also be able to communicate effectively with the customer to ensure that their expectations are met
