AC Mechanic
Job Description
As an AC mechanic, you will be responsible installing, maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Need to fully understand the principles of Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and apply them in practice.
- Need to regularly inspect air conditioning compressor units and effect maintenance and repairs as necessary.
- Required to maintain charging equipment, refrigeration test equipment, and A/C tools in good condition.
- Ensure cleanliness of work areas and protection of the surrounding area when executing jobs.
- Need to understand the control principles of all A/C systems and regularly test, repair, and calibrate.
- Need to verify building area temperatures adjust as necessary and record on the plant log sheet.
- Required to complete major and minor services on A/C and refrigeration equipment as assigned and return the completed job sheets to the Engineering Office.
- Learn and carry out fire brigade duties when assigned.
- Required to complete the personal daily job record, time book accurately, and keep ready for inspection.
Skills Require
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning units and components such as motors, compressors, condensers, pipes, gauges, and switches
- Diagnosing faults and recording malfunctions and actions are taken
- Drilling holes and mounting brackets for installations
- Cutting, threading and bending piping to specifications
- Using fluids or gases to check air conditioning systems for leaks
- Testing and adjusting systems to achieve optimal performance
- Welding, soldering, brazing or bolting pipes to connect equipment
- Following workplace health and safety procedures.
